Art sessions for children
We offer a range of options for children to spend time drawing and painting and develop their skills at OSAS. These include after-school term-time sessions, regular Saturday sessions and holiday courses.
after-school
(4-5:45pm, term-time, currently Tuesdays only)
During these sessions children will work on individual 2D painting and drawing projects tailored to their interests. Students will practise core fine-art skills and techniques: composition, perspective, tone, texture, contrast, colour theory, pattern, while experimenting with and learning about different materials.
Classes will be structured to build technique, encourage creativity, and allow individualized progress through guided instruction and hands-on projects, which in many cases will lead to extended painting in oil on canvas. We want the sessions to be fun, engaging and informal but with a serious approach to developing skills.
saturday sessions
(10-12/2-4pm, weekly)
As in the after-school sessions children will work on individual 2D painting and drawing projects tailored to their interests. Unlike the after-school sessions the Saturday session times are not exclusively for children and can be mixed groups of children and adults or family groups.
holiday courses
School Holidays and Half Terms
During the breaks we will run sessions that can be booked as consecutive days to form a complete course or individual sessions. In the complete courses students will follow a structured sequence of activities or an individual themed project. Those attending individual sessions or part courses will follow a slightly different programme tailored to their interests and time available.
Taster Sessions
If you’re not sure which to choose you can arrange to pay us a visit with your child to see the space and have a chat. There is also an option to book a 1 hour Taster Session for them to give it a go before committing to a block of sessions. (Excludes holiday courses where Taster Sessions are not available)
