How it works

We operate a fully equipped art studio where you can come and work on your own painting and drawing projects, with all materials and tuition included.

After completing a Taster Session you can proceed to purchase a block of either 5 or 10 two hour sessions in the studio.

You can choose between fixed or flexi sessions where you either book in all dates in advance or retain the option to book your sessions at any point in a 3 month period.

Each time you arrive at the studio your project will be set up, ready and waiting for you. A tutor will be on hand to help you get into your flow and continue to offer support and guidance throughout your sessions.

By the end of the block of 5 or 10 sessions you will aim to have completed a painting or drawing project to take home and wow your family and friends.

You might be thinking…

Who is it for?

We welcome all levels and all ages from children 8+ to lifelong learners. Adults and children will generally come at different times with after school classes 4:30-6:30pm on weekdays. Daytime and evening sessions during school term times will be for adults. Weekend sessions can be mixed, which allows family groups to attend together.

I want to make art but I don’t have a project in mind

During your taster session we will have a chat and explore a range of options, based on your current level and interests. The studio is full of inspiring objects to draw and paint, there is a library of art books to browse and you are welcome to use your own photographs as a starting point.

I haven’t done art since school

Don’t let that stop you! Our aim is to provide a welcoming, fun and inclusive atmosphere where people can work at their own pace. Where we differ from other art courses is the bespoke tuition and individual support. Do your own thing at your own pace, we’re here to help.

Is it like an old-fashioned art academy?

We believe that having a grounding in some of the basics of drawing and painting helps to build confidence and unlocks multiple creative pathways. We do not teach a particular method or style. Our tutors are all highly skilled artists, confident in a range of materials and approaches, and with a contemporary approach to making art. Having said that, looking at other artists, both current and past, is an invaluable way to learn, so you can expect some of that.
